 Job Description  The Department of Biological
Sciences at Ohio University () invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Cell Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The expected start date is August 2026.
Potential research areas include, but are not limited to, epigenetics, organelle functions, cell trafficking, evolution of cell
architecture, cell signaling, and cell development. We are particularly interested in candidates who use cutting-edge or innovative
approaches to address fundamental questions in eukaryotic cell biology, excluding plant systems. 
 The successful candidate is
expected to establish an extramurally funded research program that complements the research strengths of our department which span from
molecules to ecosystems. Our research and graduate programs are integrated with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine ( HCOM ) providing ample opportunities for interactions and collaborations. Faculty research is also supported by
University initiatives and there are opportunities to collaborate with a number of other departments, research institutes, and centers at
Ohio University including Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Department of Environmental & Plant Biology, the Diabetes Institute (DI),
Infectious and Tropical Diseases Institute ( ITDI ), Ohio Center for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies ( OCEES ), and Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute ( OMNI ). Research activities are
supported by core facilities for imaging, flow cytometry, histology, and others. 
 Teaching responsibilities include one upper-level
undergraduate course in Cell Biology, and two additional courses that fill departmental teaching needs and are consistent with the
candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will also mentor undergraduate and MS and PhD students and contribute professional service
to the Department and University.

 Minimum Qualifications  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biological
Sciences or a related field at the time of application. 
 Preferred Qualifications  Candidates
should provide evidence of research productivity demonstrated by a record of publications in relevant journals and extramural support, and a
research statement that outlines an innovative, forward-looking research program. 
 Postdoctoral and teaching experience is strongly
preferred.
