Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

OpenKyber has a client in need of a Network Engineer in Boston, MA.



Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement data communication systems
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues; communicate solutions effectively
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment
  • Research network products, services, protocols, and standards
  • Recommend and perform network upgrades, improvements, and repairs
  • Monitor network activity to ensure efficient operation and timely problem resolution
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve circuit or hardware issues
  • Document network problems clearly and promptly
  • Stay current on teleprocessing-network concepts and hardware through training
  • Plan and coordinate installation, cabling, and placement of data communications equipment
  • Assist in developing telecommunication strategies and network services
  • Conduct site visits to assess infrastructure; provide recommendations and collaborate on logistics
  • Evaluate new construction projects for network implementation
  • Develop career paths for team members
  • Travel to work sites and assist during emergencies or events
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects


REQUIREMENTS:
  • CCIE certification (written and practical)
  • 6+ years of experience in network design and implementation
  • Expertise in configuring networks with multiple routing protocols: RIP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, L3 VPN, ISIS, and L2 VPN
  • Extensive experience with Cisco products, especially in VXLAN environments
  • Advanced skills in installation and configuration across diverse network technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of all routing protocols
  • Strong vendor management and cross-department collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead projects and act as escalation point for network reliability and service continuity
  • Proficient in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex enterprise networks (LAN/WAN)
  • Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in applying innovative strategies
  • Valid driver's license

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
