Information Security Engineer– Emergency Care

I n late January we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business, which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025. With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for overseeing design, implementing, and managing security controls to safeguard our systems, applications, and data. This individual will play a key role in developing security standards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing solutions that strengthen our security posture.

Your role

  • Lead Azure security design and operations, with hands-on expertise in:
    - Entra ID (Azure AD) identity and access management
    - Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR)
    - Azure-native security solutions (Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Security Center, etc.)

  • Provide secondary coverage for AWS environments, ensuring consistent cross-cloud security practices.

  • Implement hardening of Windows, Linux, and macOS systems, including end-user devices.

  • Manage network security: routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, and intrusion prevention/WAF.

  • Deploy and manage:
    - Vulnerability management tools and patch management processes
    - Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
    - Endpoint protection and EDR platforms
    - Web and email content filtering solutions

  • Administer SIEM/SOAR environments, ensuring effective logging, detection, and response.

  • Perform risk assessments, identify gaps, and provide practical security solutions.

  • Document and maintain policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

  • Ensure alignment with ISO/IEC 27001 and security control objectives from ISO/IEC 27002.

  • Contribute to internal/external audits and compliance assessments.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience, strong background in Microsoft Azure security solutions and solid experience across enterprise IT and cloud environments.

  • Proven experience as an Information Security Engineer (or similar role) in enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise with Azure security, including Entra ID, Sentinel, and Defender solutions.

  • Solid knowledge of networking technologies: routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, patching, and PAM.

  • Skilled in hardening Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.

  • Experience with SIEM/EDR, email security, and web filtering technologies.

  • Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001 & 27002, risk assessment, and security governance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex issues clearly.

  • Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)

  • Experience with AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.).

  • Shared responsibility model working with MSSP/CSP.

  • Other industry certifications such as AWS Certified Security, CISSP, CSSP.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office-based role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay ranges for this position are:                                   

$100,000 to $172,000 (AK, DE, MD, NY, RI, or WA)

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors  including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
