Senior Software Engineer

What does a successful Senior Software Engineer do? At Fiserv, we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As a Software Development Engineering - Professional I, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and implement software applications to support Fiserv's business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.
• Adapt and evolve responsibilities as required to meet project demands and align with organizational objectives.

What you will need to have:

• Proficient in Progress OpenEdge technologies, such as AppBuilder, Data Dictionary, SmartObjects, and ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• 1+ years of experience in Java, C, C#, C++, or similar programming languages.
• 1+ years of experience in SQL databases.
• 1+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
• 1+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• 1+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
• 3+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.

What would be great to have:

• 3 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• 3+ years of experience with microservices architecture.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Open Edge REST Services API experience a Plus

Important information about this role:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

• You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

• This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
