Job Title: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Mission Viejo, CA 92691
Duration: 8 weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour (Start times vary between 7:00 AM and 10:30 AM)
Call Schedule: One on-call shift per week (Mon Fri: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM; Weekends: 4:30 PM 8:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $72/hr (W2) | $77/hr (1099)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and credentialed Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for an 8-week travel contract. Under minimal supervision, the Echo Tech will perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiograms to assess cardiac structure and function across a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Imaging:
Perform 2D, 3D, and Doppler echocardiograms
Conduct bubble studies, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echo tests
Administer transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), including TAVR and Watchman procedures
Utilize contrast agents for enhanced imaging when indicated
Perform echocardiographic procedures in acute, outpatient, ICU, and ER settings
Advanced Cardiac Calculations:
Apply Simpson's Rule, LV Strain/Volume analysis, Diastology, and Proximal Isovelocity Surface Area (PISA)
Equipment Use:
Operate various ultrasound systems including GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, SonoSite, and PACS systems
Documentation & Collaboration:
Accurately document all procedures and findings using Epic (charting system)
Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care plans
Patient Care:
Deliver compassionate care to a broad demographic from neonates to geriatric patients
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures
Qualifications:
Required Certifications: BLS + either ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS)
Experience: Minimum 1 year as an Echo Tech in a hospital or clinical setting
Preferred Experience: Pediatric, PICU, and Neonatal Echo procedures
Charting System: Epic (required, any experience acceptable)
