Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a **Landfill Gas & Liquids Technician** to join the team in **Castaic, CA!** The schedule will be Monday-Friday. Weekend work and overtime is often required. Shift is 7am-4:30 or 5pm. The pay range for this position is **$32-34/hour,** depending on experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Clean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables + Assembling new parts on existing pumps + Checking, monitoring and cleaning gas wells + Reading and keeping track of gas well data + Operating small pieces of equipment such as backhoe + Working with team and contract employees + Working outside in all weather conditions. + Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: + Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
